Why Join the Shelter Bay Yacht Club?
Being a member of a yacht club is a great way to meet friends and neighbors with a similar love of boating in our beautiful Northwest.
Meet your Neighbors: In addition to enjoying being out on the water in our boats, we also have fun on land! We have monthly dinners at the Community Club House as well as BBQs near the marina during the summer. For those who find themselves without a cruising vessel, hopefully temporarily, we offer an Associate membership.
Cruising: Our cruise program is from early spring through fall with both weekend events as well as longer multi-destination cruises. In addition, you can often find another member heading out for some informal cruising to share our many anchorages and marinas.
Reciprocal Moorage: We have reciprocal relationships with 67 yacht clubs in the Pacific Northwest. This can be a major financial savings and by just staying a few times a year at a reciprocal site a member can often cover the costs of membership as well as meet new friends at other clubs throughout NW Washington and British Columbia, CA.
Training and Educational Events: Regularly scheduled training events can keep you up on everything from the" rules-of-the-road" to how to maintain your boat. Get involved, not only as a participant but as an instructor; volunteers are what makes this Club such an outstanding organization.
Membership is open to all residents in the Shelter Bay Community and to those who moor their boats at the Community Marina as well as at private docks within Shelter Bay.
A one time Initiation Fee of $100 for the family membership and annual dues of only $80 make this one of the best bargains in the Northwest.
